Ohio whitewater, Cuyahoga River Summit county, Ohio Edison Dam to Cascade Valley Metro Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III-IV     1 miles   The wonderful Summit County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This stretch of Cuyahoga River is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. This is an extremely short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in     this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a short drive from Akron, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Cuyahoga River is a place with many visitors from Cuyahoga Falls. Portage   Lakes State Park is a great place to stop by, and of course, all our national parks are great locations to explore and Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area is no exception. This is such a fun river. The skiing at Boston Mills is great; one of the best things about this site is its proximity to Turkeyfoot Beach. A trip to Tinker's Creek State Park rejuvenates the spirit. During the warm months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Cuyahoga River. For the period of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cuyahoga River.
