The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Kellogg Creek in Lake / Geauga County is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend |
hours on the river in one stretch. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Ohio are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The campgrounds here at Kellogg
| Creek are pretty good. The nature scenery of Ohio and the water flowing gracefully down Kellogg Creek attract people from near and far. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.

about the general area: Everybody loves Punderson State Park; there are plenty of people from Painesville here. Near Kellogg Creek you find the Mushers Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. Very scenic scenery and
magnificent skiing is what you get at Alpine Valley. A visit to Headlands Beach State Park rejuvenates the spirit; going for a hike on the Erie Trail is always a pleasant adventure. All through the warm days of summer here
at Kellogg Creek, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Kellogg Creek.
