Ohio whitewater, Lake Erie Cuyahoga county, Edgewater Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Ohio you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Cuyahoga County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You might     be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Edgewater Park section is one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There's camping available near Lake Erie. Briefly about the general   area: On a wonderful day you can visit Perkins Beach near Lake Erie; a visit to Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area is recommended. Lake Erie is not far at all from Lakewood; a spree here wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Cleveland Lakefront State Park. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. A spree to Huntington Beach near Lake Erie is always a good idea. Lake Erie gets a normal amount of rainfall. Most of the rain falls throughout June while January is generally the driest month. For the duration of the days of summer at Lake Erie highs are regularly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
