We run this frequently (because we live in Newark.) Our put in places are Everett Park in Newark, or at times, if the water is too high, we will put in down on Ohio Street, where the South Fork and North Fork meet. These are much easier put in places than what I have witness people having to do at the 315 Bridge. Last time out we helped a woman who fell at the 315, while that group was trying to put in. Make sure you always bring a mini |
first aid kit!! Out of 10 in that group, not one had a first aid kit. Her scraps were such that we used 2 of our 3 kits that we had with us, and just gave them our other as she would need more than us at that time. Says

The Newark to Rock Haven Park section of Licking River in Licking County is 8.6 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Licking County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are
not so many other good rivers for that around here. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater
rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners.
