Ohio whitewater, Little Beaver Creek Columbiana county, Lusk Lock to State Park section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     5.5 miles   We were thrown out of a little area called the tubs. Had to carry our canoes out of the water and to a road. Says Sheila Lusk Lock put-in is extremely remote.  Does anyone use it?  Better to go upstream to the Middle Fork put-in. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here     a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Little Beaver Creek are pretty good. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This section of Little Beaver Creek in Ohio is 5.5 miles long and is according to American   Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The put-in location is a short drive from East Liverpool-Salem, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Pine Ridge Trail, and Little Beaver Creek is in the vicinity of Beaver Creek State Park which is a lovely place. You'll meet a lot of people from Rogers here, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Little Beaver Creek; Dogwood Trail is a magnificent local trail.
