Ohio whitewater, Mad River

Montgomery county, Huffman Dam section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II+     0 miles
The beautiful scenery of Montgomery County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Ohio tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Huffman Dam stretch
of Mad River is 0 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II+ section of whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The starting point is not too far from Dayton, please print
out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater
rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here.
