The Grand River Tributary section of Paine Creek in Ohio is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III(V) section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Ohio and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. If you're coming from Ashtabula it's not a long drive at all |
to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so better bring some
| good walking shoes. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding.

some time to go to Indian Point right next door to Paine Creek if you have a chance, and you can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Alpine Valley. During your tour to Paine Creek you'll meet some folks from Perry
for sure. A journey to Paine Creek wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Headlands Beach State Park; going for a hike on the Erie Trail is always a splendid adventure. A visit to Geneva State Park when you're here
at Paine Creek is a tremendous idea. Paine Creek gets a common amount of annual rainfall. The month with most of the rain is September, and the driest of the months is February.
