Says Jim P. This ''river'' is in my backyard (literally) it varies from 2'' to 7' in the stretch outlined and has dead trees laying across it, blocking the way, every 50' or so. It is not recommended to kayak or paddle on. If you putin at the takeout location, there are 2 or 3 portages before entering the Cuyahoga. You can then take out at Riverview/Botzum bridge or at 303/Riverview bridge. Says David     Messner the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you   might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The nature scenery of Ohio and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There's camping available near Yellow Creek. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're coming from Akron it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down.
