The nature scenery of Oklahoma and the water flowing gracefully down Jimmy Creek make the trip here worthwhile. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking     spots in Oklahoma are easier than the national norm, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The put-in location is a short drive from Lawton, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The river winds through the Wichita Mountains and you get great scenery. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and night lows at Jimmy Creek through the wintertime regularly drop into the 20's.
