  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oklahoma is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. The Honobia to Cloudy Road section of Little River in Oklahoma is 40 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Leflore/ Pushmataha County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming
    here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Now this is a pretty long section, so better bring your camping gear along. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this
area has a large number of paddling spots. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita Mountains is a great experience. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Honobia to Cloudy Road section is one of them. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels  
fill up quick. The put-in is not too far from McAlester, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at Little River you can take a hike along the Flashman Trail, and if you're popping by from Battiest, you won't be the only one. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Ouachita Mountains. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Silver Suck Trail. The high level of precipitation makes Little River a relatively wet site. The month with most of the rain is May; January is the month with the least moisture.
