The nature scenery of Linn County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This stretch of Calapooia River is 9 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This is |
not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels
| fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The put-in is not too far from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down.
