The wonderful Clackamas County scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.     A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The put-in is not too far from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Hiking along the Cottonwood Meadows Trail is nice fun, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Roaring River Trail. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Central Cascade Range. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
