This stretch of Coquille River - South Fork in Oregon is 7.7 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number     of paddling places. The put-in is not too far from Brookings, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The wild   scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Hiking along the Lower River Trail is great fun, and a journey to Siskiyou National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff truly is plentiful here in the Coast Ranges. Coquille River Falls Natural Area is a perfect local forest, and do take a hike on the Mountain Wells Trail. At this river you will always have a good time. A visit to Coquille Myrtle Grove State Park when you're here at Coquille River - South Fork is a good idea, and a journey to Coquille River Falls will fill your spirit with pleasant feelings.
