The put-in is not too far from Bend, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Briefly about the general area: You'll meet a lot of people from Bend here, and sites like Tumalo State Park are good to stop at. You clearly ought to adore the Central
Cascade Range. Pilot Butte State Park is a perfect spot. Deschutes River is regularly a reasonably dried up site. December is the month that gets the most snow, and July meanwhile is the driest month. At Deschutes River
