Briefly about the general area: White River Falls State Park is a glorious location to stretch your legs a bit; lots of folks from City of The Dalles come here. Horsethief Lake State
Park is a pretty site any time of year. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Deschutes River with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter
temperatures at Deschutes River fall into the 20's. At Deschutes River you don’t see much precipitation. The month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
