Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The Meadow Creek to 3 miles above mouth stretch of Drift Creek is 17 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III     section. The wonderful Lincoln County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. The Meadow Creek to 3 miles above mouth section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter,   this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Briefly about the general area: Ona Beach State Park is a good place to pop by; at Drift Creek you always meet someone from Tidewater. Man, is there heaps of exciting stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. South Beach State Park is a great spot; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Ona Beach. A river like this is too good to miss. While you're here at Drift Creek you can take a hike along the Horse Creek Trail, and a good beach close by is Holly Beach. Drift Creek is a rather wet place regularly with a lot of rainfall. Through December this area sees the most rain; the driest month is July.
