Oregon whitewater, Eagle Creek

Clackamas county, Fish Hatchery to Eagle Creek Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-V+     11 miles
The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general
area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beautiful scenery of Clackamas County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. The campgrounds here at Eagle Creek are pretty good. There are nice comfortable hotels
here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch of Eagle Creek in Oregon is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V+ section by American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range
is a great experience. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff.

Briefly about the general area:
Bonnie Lure State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Eagle Creek, and a spree to Middle Falls will fill your spirit with pleasant feelings. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range, too pleasant to be true. Eagle Creek is a place with many visitors from Estacada; don't leave Eagle Creek without first paying a visit to The Fall. This is such a fun river. On a splendid day at Eagle Creek you can take a hike along the Eagle Creek Cutoff; needless to say, everyone loves Milo McIver State Park.
