Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Wyeth Trail, and there are plenty of people from Hood River here at Hood River - West Fork. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. A trip to Viento State Park revives the soul; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Cooper Spur while you're here. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Starvation Creek State Park is a great location, and don't leave Hood River - West Fork without first going for a hike along the Pinnacle Ridge Trail.
