CLASS III-IV 8 miles

| |
The Cover Camp to FS 31 section of Jackson Creek is 8 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Douglas County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Southern |
Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There's camping available near Jackson Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting
| and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. The starting location is a short drive from Medford, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Cover | |

Camp to FS 31 stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system.
Briefly about the general area: There is a tremendous hiking trail close to Jackson Creek called the Freezeout Trail, and going for

of November you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Jackson Creek typically tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 40's.
