This section of Jackson Creek in Oregon is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV(V) section. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Medford, please print out a copy of the road map further     down the page so you won’t get lost. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful scenery of Douglas County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater   rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Whitewater paddling here in the Southern Cascade Range is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Jackson Creek without popping by Joseph H. Stewart State Park, and there are fine places to discover along the Acker Divide Trail. That right there is a lot of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Southern Cascade Range has it all.
