The natural beauty of Oregon and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the FS Road 165 to White Creek Campground section is one of them. |
On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. If you're coming from Medford it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info
| on that. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners.

area: The Red Butte Trail is a pleasant hiking trail next to Little River; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Mott Trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade
Range. Summer at Little River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in
the winter at Little River temperatures drop to the 30's. Little River commonly gets a large amount of rainfall. The wettest month of the year is ordinarily November, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is July.
