Oregon whitewater, Marion Creek

Linn county, Gooch Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV(V)     7 miles
If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of Oregon and the water flowing gracefully down Marion Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Gooch Falls stretch of Marion Creek in Linn County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class IV(V) section by American Whitewater. The put-in
is not too far from Bend, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Gooch Falls section is one of them. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature
are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The campgrounds here at Marion Creek are pretty good. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
