The wonderful Oregon scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Metolius River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while will     make you glad you came. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking   in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The put-in location is a short drive from Bend, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Metolius River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Six Creek Spring, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Reservation Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Central Cascade Range. You're sure to bump into some fine folks from Camp Sherman here. Near Metolius River you come across the Sugar Pine Ridge Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.
