Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to     one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Buell County Park to Yamhill River section of Mill Creek is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American   Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Corvallis, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Briefly about the general area: Here at Mill Creek you'll probably meet some folks from Sheridan, and a spree to Manhattan Beach State Park is a great idea. So much exciting stuff in the Coast Ranges, just incredible. Throughout the summer here at Mill Creek, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Mill Creek temperatures sink to the 30's.
