The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and just     being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The Blaine to Hebo section of Nestucca River is 13.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both,   doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: This is a popular place for people from Beaver, and a tour to Cape Kiwanda State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Wilson Beach is right next door to Nestucca River if you're in a beach type of mood. Going to Munson Creek State Park right next door to Nestucca River is a pleasant thing to do; you can hit the beach if you want, Kiwanda Beach is practically right here.
