The starting location is a reasonable drive from Longview-Kelso, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Rock Creek is 12.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II(III) section. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Keasey to mouth section is one of them. The beauty of the Coast Ranges is a great plus for this river. Great exercise |

Briefly about the general area: At Rock Creek you always meet someone from Vernonia, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Jones Beach. Be careful
coming to the Coast Ranges, you might not ever wanna go home again. Summer at Rock Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Through the wintertime this place
gets highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Rock Creek temperatures plunge to the 30's. Lots of rainfall falls at Rock Creek.
