The natural beauty of Josephine/Curry County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. If you're coming from Grants Pass it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There's camping available near Rogue River. of good places. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Coast Ranges
| scenery is wonderful. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Grave Creek to Foster Bar section of Rogue River in Josephine/Curry County is 34 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. Briefly about the general area: When you're here at Rogue
River it's always fun to pop by Siskiyou National Forest, and a short journey to Montana Spring is always worthwhile. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Coast Ranges. There are
pleasant spots to discover along the Illinois River Trail, and going for a hike on the Bear Camp Trail is always a pleasant adventure. At this river you will never have a bad time.
