The scenic beauty of Jackson County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting     here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a short drive from Medford, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater paddling here in the Southern Cascade Range is a great experience. This is a short paddling stretch so   better bring some good walking shoes. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Barr Creek Falls, and Skookum Gorge is a good location to spend some time. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Southern Cascade Range. Joseph H. Stewart State Park is a tremendous site to stretch your legs a bit; there's good hiking along the Ginkgo Trail. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Casey State Park is a beautiful place any time of year, and don't leave Rogue River - North Fork without first going for a hike along the Flat Creek Trail.
