If you're coming from Albany-Lebanon it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time     in nature will have you coming back for more. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater   rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. Briefly about the general area: A tremendous place like Silver Falls State Park near Santiam River - Little North is too great to leave out, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Crabtree Lake Trail. You completely ought to like the Central Cascade Range. People from Mill City love to come to Santiam River - Little North, and don't leave without stopping by North Santiam State Park.
