The Pyramid Creek to Green Peter Reservoir stretch of Santiam River - Middle in Linn County is 15.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that quite a     few of the sections here are not easy. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag   too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Chimney Peak Trail is always a great adventure. A spree to Detroit Lake State Park when you're here at Santiam River - Middle is a splendid idea, and there are fine sites to discover along the Minniece Point Trail.
