This section of Siletz River in Oregon is 10.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby     but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Elk Creek to Moonshine Park section is one of them. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. There's camping available near Siletz River. Since you're on this site you   are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. Briefly about the general area: Lots of folks from Logsden come to Siletz River, and Ellmaker State Park is worth stopping at. Just can't get enough of the Coast Ranges. For the period of the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Siletz River temperatures sink to the 30's.
