The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the North Falls to Lower putin section is one of them. You might have to settle     for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section of Silver Creek is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area:   At Silver Creek you always meet someone from Silverton; Middle North Falls is a striking place to stop by while you're at Silver Creek. A spree to Silver Creek wouldn’t be complete without a trip to close by Silver Falls State Park; a short visit to Drake Falls is always worthwhile. This river is so good. A wonderful location like North Santiam State Park right next door to Silver Creek is too fine to leave out, and you can go for a hike on the Crabtree Lake Trail. Going for a hike on the Snow Peak Mill City Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Summertime at Silver Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
