probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The nature scenery of Douglas County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There's camping available near Steamboat Creek. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. A bit of exercise and just
hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the City Creek to Steamboat Falls stretch is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
Steamboat Falls is a wonderful local attraction, and you definitely have to go to Clyde Holliday State Park if you're here. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Central Cascade Range rules! Take a hike on the Deception Way, and hiking along the Panther Trail is tremendous fun. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Through the days of summer highs here at Steamboat Creek reach the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's.
