The put-in is not too far from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away     from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The Log Bridge to Hannah Bridge section of Thomas Creek in Linn County is 9.6 miles long and   it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: There are great places to discover along the Crabtree Lake Trail, and spots like Silver Falls State Park are tremendous to check out. Having a tremendous time in the Central Cascade Range is painless. You'll meet a lot of people from Lyons here; going for a hike on the Snow Peak Mill City Trail is always a good adventure. This river is always fun. North Santiam State Park is a delightful site any time of year. Thomas Creek is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall.
