| and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: Go for a hike on the Grayback Trail, and if you're popping by from
Myrtle Creek, you won't be the only one. That right there is a load of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. Going for a hike on the South Fork Trail is always a nice adventure. Umpqua
River - South is a pretty wet place usually with a lot of precipitation. Of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
