The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the water flowing gracefully down Willamette River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting point is not too far from Eugene-Springfield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are |
not easy. This stretch of Willamette River is 36 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I section. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. A section

You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Willamette River is not far at all from Harrisburg, and Horseshoe Bar is another fine spot to stop by nearby. If you're here at Willamette River, checking out Harpers
Bend is a must. A cool spot to stop by in the neighborhood of Willamette River is Harrisburg Bend. A good deal of rainfall falls at Willamette River. December is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the
driest month. Summer at Willamette River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's.
