Oregon whitewater, Willamette River - Middle Fork

Lane county, Dexter Dam to confluence with Coast Fork Willamette section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II     10.8 miles
The scenic beauty of Oregon and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Dexter Dam to confluence with Coast Fork Willamette section of Willamette River - Middle Fork in Oregon is 10.8 miles long and is rated
by American Whitewater as a class II section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. If you hurry you can
run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. If you're coming from Eugene-Springfield it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great
plus for this river. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Dexter Dam to confluence with Coast Fork Willamette section is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.

Briefly about the general area:
