  This section of Bobs Creek in Bedford County is 13.1 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The nature scenery of Bedford County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more
    forgiving than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The Dunning Creek to 1.7 miles above Pennsylvania Route 869 section is one of a few paddling sections
in this river system. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Altoona, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.

Briefly about the general area:
 
Going for a hike on the Garlick Trail is always a great adventure; you'll meet a lot of people from Osterburg here. Near Bobs Creek you locate the Reservoir Trail which is a great hiking trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Blue Knob if you're here. At this river you will never have a bad time. Since you're here at Bobs Creek why not have a look at Sloan Hollow, and a journey to Blue Knob State Park rejuvenates the soul. The high level of rainfall makes Bobs Creek a pretty wet site. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
