CLASS I     11 miles
The Lenape Pennsylvania to Thompson Bridge Road Delaware stretch of Brandywine Creek in Chester County is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class I section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. If you're coming from Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. If you hurry you
can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There
are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Lenape Pennsylvania to Thompson Bridge Road Delaware section is just one of many. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving,
so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.

Briefly about the general area:
The cheerful folks of Chadds Ford like to hang out nearby, and a tour here wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Bellevue State Park. A pleasant beach next to Brandywine Creek is Deemers Beach, and Brandywine Creek State Park is worth taking a look at. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Beaches are tremendous; and Deemers Beach close to Brandywine Creek is no exception.
