The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This     section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Reading, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near.
