  If you're coming from Reading it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Buck Run have people coming here. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this
    state are pretty easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip.
If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The Doe Run Church Road to Brandywine Confluence stretch of Buck Run in Pennsylvania is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The Doe Run Church Road to Brandywine Confluence stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in  
this river system. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.

Briefly about the general area:
Go for a hike on the Buzzard Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Modena here. Good hiking is available along the Lenade Trail. Buck Run is a wet spot that gets a great deal of rain. During July this area sees the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. During the long summer days at Buck Run temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Buck Run dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
