This stretch of Casselman River in Pennsylvania is 27.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the water flowing gracefully down Casselman River make the trip here worthwhile. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping     stuff. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: Baughman Spring is an inspiring place to visit while you're here; Hidden Valley has nice slopes and a friendly staff. Lots of folks from Springs come to Casselman River, and the landscape is dominated by the Negro Mountain. This river is always fun. Shelter Rocks is an out of the ordinary site to have a look at while at Casselman River. High temperatures at Casselman River during the summertime are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
