The starting location is a short drive from Lock Haven, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Tioga/Lycoming County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking     you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Leetonia to Pine Creek section is one of them. There   are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: You certainly have to go to Leonard Harrison State Park if you're here at Cedar Run, and why not head up to Ski Sawmill and strap some skis to your feet. Cedar Run is right by the Tumbling Run Trail, and nearby you discover fine places like Hamilton Hollow. A river like this is too good to miss. Cedar Run is not far at all from Gaines, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Red Rock Trail. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 80's at Cedar Run; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
