If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so better not forget that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. The starting point is not too far from Gettysburg, if you're not familiar     with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly   about the general area: Go for a hike on the Pole Bridge Trail, and close by The Narrows is a glorious location to go. There are delightful places to discover along the Wildcat Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Ski Liberty is pretty near. This is a great river. Here at Conewago Creek - West you'll most likely meet some folks from Biglerville. From a rainfall point of view Conewago Creek - West is a relatively normal location. The wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest.
