The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. There's fine hiking along the Gravel Lick Trail, and a fine place to pop by is Slip Hollow. This river is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Ridge Trail, and Ole Bull State Park is a striking spot any time of year. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Cross Fork highs are frequently in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's.
