The Draketown to Youghiogheny River stretch of Drake Run in Pennsylvania is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short     distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Draketown to Youghiogheny River section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Pennsylvania is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The campgrounds here at Drake Run are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Briefly about the general area: During your visit to Drake   Run you'll meet some people from Confluence for sure, and Seven Springs is a good local ski area. Take a hike on the Great Gorge Trail; nearby you hit upon Ohiopyle Gorge which is a pleasant spot to go to. This is such a great river. A great deal of rain falls at Drake Run. The month with most of the rain is July, and February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures at Drake Run through the summer months are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Drake Run.
