Pennsylvania whitewater, Fourmile Run

CLASS II-IV     10 miles
  The put-in location is a short drive from Somerset, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There's camping available near Fourmile Run. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section of Fourmile
    Run is 10 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. You can enjoy this section
more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so better not forget that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere.

The slopes of Seven Springs are
 
so inviting noone can resist; since you're here, you might as well pop by Possum Hollow. Fourmile Run is a location with many visitors from Whitney, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Fourmile Run; Darr Trail is a magnificent local trail. This river has so much to offer. The Brant Trail offers hiking at its best. Fourmile Run is a good place of normal rain. The month with most of the rain is July, and February is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Fourmile Run during the days of summer are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
