The Route 100 to French Creek Road stretch of French Creek in Pennsylvania is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Chester County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come     here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Reading, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general   area: Take a hike on the Lenade Trail, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Birchrunville. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Buzzard Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Spring Mountain. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. At French Creek all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at French Creek are in the 10's. French Creek is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with lots of rain. May is the month that gets the most rain while February is typically the driest month.
