Buckalew This section of Kitchen Creek in Pennsylvania is     3 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby   but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Route 487 to Route 118 stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The put-in is not too far from Bloomsburg-Berwick, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Pennsylvania and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.
