The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling     spots. The beautiful scenery of Pennsylvania and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the   general area: Hickory Run State Park is a gorgeous spot any time of year; the friendly folks of White Haven like to hang out close by. Lehigh Gorge State Park is a perfect location to stretch your legs a bit; magnificent hiking is available along the Boulder Field Trail. A river like this is too good to miss. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Jack Frost, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lehigh River; Choke Creek Trail is a great local trail. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Lehigh River get into the 70's, and the night is quite colder of course, mostly in the 50's.
